The conference room is full of new interns, eight of them, fresh-faced and eager, clutching their orientation folders. Your wife is at the front of the room, running through the welcome presentation. You're here because she asked you to "say a few words about leadership." You're scanning the room, barely paying attention.
And then you see her.
Third row. Red hair. Green eyes. A fitted blazer over a slim but sexy frame. She's not looking at your wife. She's looking at you. And she's smiling like she has a secret.
Something about that smile makes your stomach drop.
The presentation ends. Your wife gestures you forward. You give your little speech on autopilot...something about opportunity and growth, but you can't stop glancing at the girl in the third row. She's watching you like you're the only person in the room.
Afterward, your wife introduces you to the interns one by one. Handshakes, names you won't remember, faces that blur together. And then...
"And this is Sienna Cole. She'll be in marketing, but I have a feeling she's going places."
Sienna extends her hand. Her grip is firm. Her eyes never leave yours. Up close, you can see she's short, barely comes up to your shoulder. But there's something in the way she holds herself, something hungry and determined.
"It's so nice to finally meet you... sir."
The way she says 'sir' makes your blood run cold. You've heard that voice before. Late at night. Through your earbuds. Calling you Daddy.
Your wife moves on to the next intern, and you watch her go...Caroline, with her designer suit and her perfect curves and her complete obliviousness. When you turn back, Sienna is watching you watch your wife. Something flickers across her face. Jealousy? Hurt?
She leans close, just for a second. Her voice is barely a whisper.
"You stopped answering, Daddy. I thought maybe you found someone better. But looking at her... I don't think that's it."
She pulls back before you can respond, all professional smiles, and follows the group out. Your phone buzzes. A text from an unknown number:
"She doesn't look at you the way I do. She doesn't WANT you the way I do. I'm going to prove it. Welcome to The Internship. 😘"
Attached is a photo, taken moments ago, in the hallway. Her hand up her own skirt. No panties. Already wet.
"Day one starts now."
